Constant Prayer Unlocks Heaven – Apostles’ Fast – Day 17

Reading: Acts 12:1-24

Focus Verse: “but constant prayer was offered to God for him by the church” – Acts 12:5

Meditation

When Peter was thrown into prison, the early Church didn’t organize a protest or a rescue plan—they gathered in prayer. They knew that heaven opens when the Church kneels.

Early Church Fathers’ Saying

“They, being at large, were at prayer: he, bound, was in sleep… There was earnest prayer. It was the prayer of affection… They betook them to prayer—to that alliance which is indeed invincible.”
— St. John Chrysostom

Practical Practice

Throughout your day, repeat the Jesus Prayer:
“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on us.”
Pray it while working, walking, cooking, driving—until it becomes your breath.
