The Day of Truth and Accountability – Tuesday of Holy Pascha
In the Name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, One God. Amen. May the blessing of the Father who calls us, and His Only Begotten Son who saves us, and the Holy Spirit who sanctifies and transforms us be with us all, that we may hear His word and bear fruit—thirty, sixty, and a hundredfold. Amen.
“The Day of Truth and Accountability: Am I Ready to Stand Before God?”
My beloved,
Yesterday, we walked with Christ as He cleansed the temple and revealed the truth about our inner life.
Today, the Church takes us deeper.
Tuesday of Holy Pascha is not just a day of teaching—it is a day of exposure, accountability, and judgment.
Christ is no longer silent. He is now revealing the truth—about the world, about the leaders, and about us.
Part One: The Church’s Plan
Again, the Church is not giving us scattered readings.
Every hour is one continuous message.
Monday exposed the heart.
Tuesday now asks: What will you do with what has been revealed?
Part Two: Tuesday Eve – A Call to Repentance and Readiness
First Hour of Tuesday Eve
“Lord, are there few who are saved?” (Luke 13:23, NKJV)
Christ answers:
“Strive to enter through the narrow gate…” (Luke 13:24, NKJV)
My beloved, salvation is not automatic. It requires struggle.
Not struggle with others—but struggle with yourself.
“This life has been given to you for repentance; do not waste it in vain pursuits.”
— St. Isaac the Syrian, Ascetical Homilies
Third Hour of Tuesday Eve
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem… how often I wanted to gather your children…” (Luke 13:34, NKJV)
Christ reveals His heart.
God is not rejecting us—we are rejecting Him.
He is calling, but we are not responding.
Sixth Hour of Tuesday Eve
“But take heed to yourselves…” (Luke 21:34, NKJV)
Christ warns us about distraction.
Life can consume us—work, stress, responsibilities—until we forget eternity.
Ninth Hour of Tuesday Eve
“Woe to you Pharisees…” (Luke 11:39, NKJV)
Again, the theme of hypocrisy returns.
Clean outside… corrupted inside.
“For it is not the clean body, but the pure soul, that God seeks.”
— St. John Chrysostom, Homilies on Matthew
Eleventh Hour of Tuesday Eve
“Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming…” (Mark 13:35, NKJV)
Be ready.
Not tomorrow. Not later.
Now.
The Message of Tuesday Eve
Christ is calling… but not everyone responds.
The door is open—but it will not remain open forever.
Part Three: Tuesday Day – The Day of Judgment
First Hour of Tuesday Day
“You know neither Me nor My Father…” (John 8:19, NKJV)
They were religious—but did not know God.
This is one of the most dangerous spiritual states.
Third Hour of Tuesday Day
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem… See! Your house is left to you desolate.” (Matthew 23:37–38, NKJV)
Rejection leads to desolation.
When we push God away, we empty our own lives.
Sixth Hour of Tuesday Day
“I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness.” (John 8:12, NKJV)
There are only two paths:
- Light
- Darkness
No middle ground.
Ninth Hour of Tuesday Day
“Take heed that no one deceives you.” (Matthew 24:4, NKJV)
Christ speaks about the end.
Not to scare us—but to wake us up.
Life is temporary.
Eternity is real.
Eleventh Hour of Tuesday Day
“Well done, good and faithful servant…” (Matthew 25:21, NKJV)
The Parable of the Talents.
God has given each of us something.
The question is not what you received.
The question is: What did you do with it?
“Let us not then be negligent because we have received little, but rather show diligence; for nothing is small to him that uses it well.”
— St. John Chrysostom, Homily on Matthew 78
The Deep Spiritual Truth
Tuesday is the day of accountability.
We will stand before God.
And we will answer.
The Heart of the Message
God is calling you.
- The question is not: Is God speaking?
- The question is: Are you listening?
Practical Takeaways
1. Examine Your Heart Before You Examine Others
Do not spend this week watching others or judging them.
Stand before God and ask honestly:
What in my life needs to change? What fruit is missing?
2. Do Not Delay Repentance—Start Today
Do not say, “After Holy Week I will change.”
This week is your opportunity.
Begin with one step:
- a prayer
- a confession
- a decision to leave one sin
3. Offer God Something Real, Not Just Attendance
Do not let Holy Week be only about coming to church.
Offer God something from your life:
- forgive someone
- control your tongue
- remove a hidden habit
4. Live the Hours, Not Just Attend Them
Each hour has a message.
Ask yourself during every Gospel:
What is Christ saying to me right now?
5. Prepare to Meet Christ—Not Just Celebrate the Resurrection
The goal of Holy Week is not only joy on Sunday.
It is to stand before Christ with a ready heart.
Live this week as if you will meet Him face to face.
Do not let this week pass like any other week…
because it is not just a remembrance of Christ’s Passion—
it is an invitation to your transformation.
Final Words
The Church is not warning us to frighten us… but to save us.
Do not ignore the voice of God.
Because one day… it will be the last time you hear it.
May the Lord bless us, transform our hearts and minds, that our homes may stand on the Rock, our hands serve in the harvest, and our hearts long for Heaven. Amen.
