Unusual Kindness – Apostles’ Fast – Day 5
Reading: Acts 27:42–44; Acts 28:1–6
Focus Verse: “And the natives showed us unusual kindness; for they kindled a fire and made us all welcome, because of the rain that was falling and because of the cold.”
—Acts 28:2 (NKJV)
Meditation
The strangers on Malta didn’t need a sermon to act kindly—they saw need and responded with warmth. Do we, who know Christ, show even greater kindness?
Early Church Fathers’ Saying
“The Jews… persecuted and harassed [Paul]; but the barbarians… merely on the ground of his misfortune, were kind to him.”
—St. John Chrysostom
Practical Practice
Today, go out of your way to show “unusual kindness” to someone who believes differently—or not at all. Kindness is not earned; it is offered.
